Farm Box Building at Lonely Worm Farm
Independence in a Community Setting - A Farm Setting
From Mike: Integration, Independence, and Community are all available at Lonely Worm Farm. Some days, our Young Adults want friends, and some days our Young Adults want independence. The Farm Boxes are sort of the perfect balance at Lonely Worm Farm where Ben “owns” one box that he built. Ben will now plant and take care of the box on a regular basis, but he will be given support by LWF Farmers Jess, Soma, and Elana on days between trips to the farm.
In addition, you can see in the pictures that the wheelchair paths have been included so that the farm is truly accessible to all now. Reminder for:
Earth Day at Lonely Worm Farm - April 22, 2023
From Ben - March 29, 2023
Today I went to the Lonely Worm Farm.
Mike Sweeney drove us there.
I saw Jess there. I saw Soma there. I brought some books to give to Soma.
I build your own box for planting. I measured the wood. I marked the line. The line showed us where to cut the wood.
We cut the wood with a jigsaw.
And you moved all of the pieces of wood.
I drilled in the screws to build the siding of the box.
We put logs on the siding inside the box to hold the sides up. We drilled in the screws.
Jess gave you a pound when we were done. I felt happy.
